HAMANASI & HUMANE SOCIETY Team Up for Success in Belize!

Hamanasi recently helped sponsor free veterinary clinics for Hopkins Village. Hamanasi supports many local village projects, including the Hopkins Belize Humane Society (HBHS). The veterinary team from Oxford, Mississippi of Kathy Kvam, Kerry O'Donoghue, Jack Williams and Clara Lee Arnold enjoyed a fantastic stay at Hamanasi while working at the local clinic. This visit was the second trip to Hopkins and Hamanasi for the vet team, who love to combine a lot of hard work at the vet clinics with some great Hamanasi fun!

Thanks to the efforts of the HBHS, Hamanasi and the vet team from Mississippi, over 50 local animals were given free spay/neuter surgeries, and another 40 free veterinary care, including deworming, flea and tick removal, wound care, and many, many other treatments.
Hamanasi supports the HBHS in an ongoing basis to help the people and animals in the village of Hopkins to live happier, healthier lives!

HAMANASI Employees of the Year - Closing Ceremonies

Closing Ceremonies for the 2009 Hamanasi season were held on September 7th, 2009. This brings one season to a close, and excitement in looking forward to the new season ahead! EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR were also announced for each department.

Congratulations to Pedro, Jackie, Kim, Dale, Naomi, Audrey and Mr. Che who were announced the winners during the annual Staff Appreciation Day! And "congratulations" to each and every staff member who made our successful season possible. And "thank you" to each and every guest that entered our Hamanasi home!

HAMANASI RESORT CHEF AWARDED BELIZE CULINARY EXCELLENCE AWARD

The Belize Tourism Board held its 8th Annual Taste of Belize Culinary Competition on Saturday, August 29, at the Old Belize Adventure Park which attracted the participation of 12 professional chefs, 5 young professional chefs and 9 bartenders, 5 cake decorators and an audience of over 700 attendees."Taste of Belize" is Belize's 'signature culinary competition' geared at developing the Culinary Arts in Belize. Competitors in all categories were expected to create a unique dish using his/her choice of ingredients. This dish could have been an appetizer, main dish or dessert and should have reflected Belizean or regional cuisine. Marcia Nunez of Hamanasi Resort in Hopkins Village was awarded the Third Place win and received a trophy and a $500 cash prize.
