The Hopkins Kite Festival Flies High in Belize!

The Hopkins Kite Festival was a huge success Saturday!  Kids of all ages had a great time and enjoyed the prizes of backpacks and school supplies donated by guests of Hamanasi.  Congratulations to all of the participants and winners for excellent work on the creative and beautiful kites of the day.  If you’re traveling to Hamanasi soon, you can bring new or gently used backpacks for our “Backpack Project”.   The backpacks are put to great use!

Hamanasi's Audrey McCaulay hands out backpacks as prizes! Beautiful!

I would like to see more photos of this event posted of the kids that what is currently on the net. If the event is about Kids and the community flying kites then let it be that and not room availability, happy hour etc. I applaud the organizers but those who are responsible for putting this info online falling short of showcasing the actual event. Photo Galleries needed.

Margaret you should really focus on improving your own game before criticizing others. The Kite Festival is a grass roots event organized by very caring community members for years now. It’s all about the kids and anyone with a love of kite flying. Your so-called “Hopkins Triple Fest” was a huge disaster. Of all that was advertised for the 3 day event you only managed to actually pull off a couple items. You used the name of the primary school, the village council and charity organizations (unbeknownst to them) saying your festival was a fundraiser to get goods credited and sponsorships and when it was time for the bills to be paid you were nowhere to be found. When it was time to clean up the garbage left behind you were nowhere to be found. Turns out you have a history of deceit with Pageants Belize. Please do not criticize Kite Festival and do not try to host anymore events in Hopkins or anywhere in Belize.
