Every year organizations around the globe celebrate Earth Hour. This is an annual celebration where people switch off their lights for an hour. By doing so, this shows that they care about the future of our planet earth. With ever increasing use of fossil fuels the temperature of our atmosphere is also increasing causing climate change. Earth Hour is the world’s largest support for action on climate change.

The management and staff at Hamanasi Adventure & Dive Resort are dedicated to being a premier provider of sustainable accommodation and tours in Belize and Central America. Hamanasi promotes responsible, sustainable nature and cultural based eco-tourism. We continually are taking steps to minimize our negative impact on our environment while increasing awareness and appreciation of nature and diverse cultures by our guests and employees. We strive to decrease our environmental footprint.

On March 25, 2017, from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm, all lights in Hamanasi’s restaurant, bar and front desk were turned off in celebration of and to show appreciation for Mother Earth. During this time our guests enjoyed romantic dinners by candlelight. We encourage all to find ways to reduce, reuse and recycle — even if it is organizing family and friends to participate in next year’s Earth Hour!
