Hamanasi has just completed its third successful Internship Project; we have been working in partnership with the 2 local high schools, Georgetown Technical and Dangriga Ecumenical, since September 2015 to develop a paid internship program. We created this program with the intention to provide a platform for the students to experience the working environment, helping them be better prepared for when they begin their journey in the working environment. We run 3 programs a year: Easter Holidays, Summer Holidays and Christmas Holidays, with the students working between 2-3 weeks for each holiday.

This Easter Amira Hernandez, Kamisha Kay Parks, and Cadisha Castillo were our successful applicants, the students got the opportunity to work in different departments within the resort. It was Benjamin Garcia’s second time back to Hamanasi, as he was here last Christmas, this is what he had to say about his experience: “I would describe my experience with the Food and Beverage department as second to none, everyone is very helpful and always willing to teach!”. Amira Hernandez  said “I had a wonderful experience in the kitchen, everyone showed me love”.

We wish our students all the best going back to school and hope to see them back at Hamanasi in the future.
