The Green Team have had a busy couple of months attending both the Easter Fest in Hopkins in April and the Cacao Fest in Punta Gorda in May.
Both Fests resulted in us having very popular stalls that was busy all day! We had Sustainability Q’s where people could find the answers by reading all the information displayed all around the Green Team booth. Once they gave us the correct answer they had the chance to pick a prize out of our lucky dip. There were water bottles, school supplies, backpacks, t-shirts, and even bottles of champagne to win! We also had a lionfish themed word search for the younger ones.
Along with the chance of winning items, visitors also had the chance of buying some organic produce, as well as plants, that Mr Tun had planted into coconut shells. There was also lionfish patties and lionfish ceviche both of which went down an absolute storm which enables us to spread the word that lionfish is not only edible but very tasty too! Thanks again to Audrey and our fantastic chefs for preparing such great lionfish goodies. For both these Fests we decided to also sell chilled husked coconuts, a great thirst quencher on such a hot day! Needless to say we sold out of those too!! All in all 2 fantastic days of spreading the green word to the community both in and outside Hopkins. Thanks again to all that helped out.
