COVID-19 Update

Due to COVID-19 Hamanasi currently is closed. Our team shares the deepest concern for those affected either directly or indirectly by the ongoing threat of COVID-19. We hope that you and your family are safe and well. As of June 26th there have been 22 known cases of COVID-19 in Belize, of which two, unfortunately, resulted in deaths. Now, however, there have been many days of no new transmissions in Belize — we hope it stays that way.

While we regret all loss of life, it is heartwarming to watch Mother Nature carrying on at Hamanasi. The birds are flitting throughout the coastal forest. The iguanas still reach for the sun on high branches. Agoutis scurry about the ground, Kinkajous sneak through the trees at night. Manatees leisurely glide past the dock.

What is missing is our employees, most of whom are furloughed. They are the pulse of Hamanasi, and we long to have back their smiling faces. Also missing is you, our guests. We all look forward to when we can again welcome and share our slice of paradise with you.

At Hamanasi, we seek authentic connections to nature, starting with our design. As a boutique hotel, we practice social distancing naturally with just 30 rooms on a large property. Our many private treehouses are spaced out within the coastal forest and our beachfront rooms all have separate outdoor entrances. Most of our public spaces are open to the fresh air and warm Caribbean breezes.

Our first priority, as it has always been, is the continued wellness and safety of our guests and employees. Below are some of the additional measures we will be taking once we reopen, and we will continually update these:

  • Our employees will wear masks, and we will continue to have hand sanitizer stations throughout the resort.
  • All rooms will be thoroughly disinfected after each checkout.
  • Guests may choose to forgo housekeeping services. If you should opt to have them, our housekeepers will take additional measures to clean and disinfect your room.
  • The seating in our bar and restaurant will be spread further apart. We will offer more locations where you may eat and take reservations to limit the number of guests dining at the same time.
  • We will reduce the number of guests on our adventures.
  • We will further enhance our rigorous cleaning methods.
  • We will look for ways to reduce touch points and the numbers of contacts.

Through all this we will continue to provide our gracious hospitality, small intimate experiences and regenerative practices.

Should you have any questions, please contact our reservations staff at reservations@hamanasi.com or 1-844-235-4930.

In the meantime:
Stay Home. Stay Safe. And then, Stay Boutique.

Sincerely,
The Hamanasi Team
