COVID-19 Information

Effective July 14th, 2022, the government of Belize has removed all public health related entry requirements at all ports of entry.  Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test is no longer required upon arrival and for entry into Belize at all official border points (land and sea). Travelers are still required to follow all public health regulations during their stay in Belize.  View the latest health and safety protocols here.

The government of Belize recommends all visitors to purchase Belize Travel Insurance at the cost of $18 USD per person.  This insurance can pay for qualified costs should you become ill during your stay.

Upon your return home, if your destination requires a COVID-19 test for entry, Hamanasi has partnered with local medical providers to provide convenient Covid rapid antigen testing on property for $75 USD per person. Furthermore, we have implemented many steps to ensure the wellbeing of our guests, employees and communities. Hamanasi applauds the great strides made by the Government of Belize and the tourism sector to ensure travelers, employees and communities are safe.

Staying at Hamanasi in the Time of COVID-19

We do recognize that cases of COVID-19 are still widespread worldwide with devastating consequences.  Our team shares the deepest concern for those affected either directly or indirectly by the ongoing threat of this disease. We hope that you and your family are safe and well.  Vaccines are helping to protect individuals and fight the spread of this virus, but we must remain vigilant to new variants as they arise.  When you are ready to travel again, everyone at Hamanasi will do our upmost to ensure your safety and health and to provide a much needed respite.

At Hamanasi, we provide authentic connections to nature, starting with our design. As a boutique hotel, we practice social distancing naturally with just 30 rooms on a large property. Our many private treehouses are spaced out within the coastal forest and our beachfront rooms all have separate outdoor entrances. Most of our public spaces are open to fresh air and warm Caribbean breezes. Our first priority, as it has always been, is the continued wellness and safety of our guests and employees.  We are taking a number of additional health and safety measures including mask wearing, enhanced cleaning, social distancing and more.  Hamanasi abides by the Belize Government’s guidelines and COVID-19 protocols.

The Government of Belize has implemented new procedures for travel in Belize.

Before Departure

  1. Book travel only with an approved Belize Gold Standard accommodation.  Hamanasi is Gold Standard approved.
  2. Purchase your Belize Travel Insurance. Travelers will also be covered for emergency assistance services such as air evacuation and emergency expenses related to pre-existing conditions. Furthermore, it will also cover trip cancellations and expenses incurred by COVID-19 positive travelers for extended stays.
