ROOM RATES

ACCOMMODATION
All Hamanasi rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed and feature private porches, hair dryer, air conditioning, bottled water, safes and en suite, colorfully tiled bathrooms. Rates are per room, per night based on double occupancy. Please add $35 for each additional person in the room. Continental breakfast, hotel tax and service charge are included in room rates. PREPAID MEAL PACKAGES
Hamanasi serves excellent Belizean and regional cuisine with international influences. Hamanasi uses the best available ingredients combining fresh produce, seafood and items from the surrounding area producing a tantalizing variety of meal choices. Hamanasi is flexible and tries to cater to special dietary requirements. Vegetarian options are available for all meals (due to our remote location, please notify Hamanasi of special dietary requirements at the time of booking)

Breakfast is served from 6:30 – 9:30 AM. Continental breakfast is included in room rates. Continental breakfast varies daily and comprises home baked breads, fresh fruit, eggs, granola, yogurt, cheese, juice, coffee and hot tea. An a la carte menu is available for an additional charge. Prepaid breakfast includes the Continental buffet and one dish off the menu.

Lunch is served from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM. The lunch menu offers a variety of Belizean and regional favorites. The prepaid lunch package includes one appetizer or entree.

Dinner is served from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. Dinner includes a choice of appetizers, several main courses and dessert accompanied by home baked bread. Each menu includes a seafood, vegetarian and meat dish. Prepaid dinner packages include bread, soup or salad, one main course, dessert, coffee and hot tea. Appetizers beyond soup or salad are available for an additional charge.

Rates are per person per meal. A service charge and sales tax are included in rates.

TRANSFERS
After landing at the Belize International Airport, most of our guests fly to the Dangriga airstrip, a 20-minute flight. Hamanasi can reserve the local flight. From Dangriga, Hamanasi can provide a ground transfer to the resort, roughly a 35 minute drive on mostly paved roads. This is the fastest and simplest method for coming and going to Hamanasi. Should a guest choose to drive from the Belize International airport it takes 2.5 to 3 hours. Hamanasi does not recommend driving as the roads are not well marked and contain many speed bumps and dangerous one-lane bridges. Furthermore, fuel is extremely expensive. Transfers from other parts of Belize can be arranged upon request.

RAINFOREST ADVENTURES
Everyday, Hamanasi offers an inland excursion based on a preset schedule. All tours are accompanied by a licensed Belizean tour guide and include park entry fees, cookies and juice. Full day tours include lunch. Please note Hamanasi can arrange special tours upon request.

REEF ADVENTURES
Belize boasts the Western Hemisphere's largest Barrier Reef and 3 of the Caribbean's 4 atolls. Hamanasi is a PADI 5 Star Resort. Hamanasi's goal is to provide a fun diving, snorkeling or fishing experience in a safe atmosphere. A licensed Belizean Tour Guide accompanies all reef adventures. A PADI professional accompanies all dive trips. Sales tax and a service charge are included in our rates. Below are some notes on our Reef Adventures:

• Tanks, weights, belts, entry fees, juice and cookies are included in rates. Lunch is included on atoll trips.
• Pleasure riding on boats is not permitted. Non-diving or non-snorkeling passengers traveling to a nearby island will be charged the snorkeling rate.
• All divers must present their dive cards. All major certifications are accepted. No one may dive without a valid certification card unless he participates in a Discover Scuba or Open Water Course.
• Some dive trips are appropriate only for experienced divers. It is at the sole discretion of Hamanasi's dive staff management to determine if the person is qualified to do the dive trip.
• All divers will be required to sign Hamanasi's liability release waiver before diving.
  
• Gear storage is free of charge. The staff carries all gear to and from the boats. While we take precautions to ensure the safety of all gear, Hamanasi is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
• Water temperature is ~78-85 F degrees all year. A 3-mm short or full wetsuit is recommended.
• The nearest recompression chamber is on Ambergris Caye. Hamanasi strongly recommends that all divers have dive insurance, such as that from the Divers Alert Network (DAN), which can be purchased at Hamanasi.
• All trips are highly dependent upon weather and a minimum number of divers or snorkelers. Bad weather can cause schedule changes and trip cancellations.
• Hamanasi usually does a Barrier Reef dive trip every day. Atoll trips are arranged only at the resort based on a minimum number of 8 divers and favorable weather conditions

DIVE INSTRUCTION
Hamanasi offers a full range of diving instruction. As a PADI 5-Star Resort all divers would receive a PADI certification upon course completion. All courses include equipment, required dives and certification cards. Below are the dive courses we offer:

Discover Scuba Diving
Often referred to as a “Resort Course” this gives a non-diver the opportunity to try diving under the constant supervision of an Instructor. Involves an introduction to dive theory and basic skill work in the pool. Then, the diver does 2 dives with the Instructor on the Barrier Reef to a maximum depth of 40 feet. Credit towards certification is valid for 1 year.

Scuba Diver
Want to learn how to dive, but don't want to commit the full amount of time on your vacation? This course give the student more in-depth dive theory and pool skills than a Discover Scuba Course, as well as 2 dives with the Instructor on the Barrier Reef. Credit for completing certification is valid indefinitely.

PADI E-Learning Open Water Course
The student does book work on-line at leisure before arrival. Pool skills are completed at Hamanasi with an Instructor. The course involves 4 open water dives on the Barrier Reef. Students should plan on this course taking 3 days. Upon completion of this course the student will be a PADI certified Open Water Diver.

Open Water Referral
This course is designed for students who have completed their dive theory and confined water training with their instructor at home and only need to complete the 4 certification dives with a Hamanasi Instructor. Students must bring their necessary documentation from their coursework instructor.

Open Water Course
Upon completion of this course the student will be a PADI certified Open Water Diver. This intense course requires a significant amount of reading, studying and skill work with an Instructor. The course involves 4 open water dives on the Barrier Reef. Students should plan on this course taking 3 to 4 days.

Advance Open Water
This course allows the certified diver to perfect and expand the basic dive skills he learned in his Open Water Course. 5 dives are required for this course, including an introduction to several specialties.

Rusty Diver Course
The Rusty Diver course is designed to refresh the skills of a certified diver who has been diving recently. This involves reviewing skills in the pool with a Divemaster or Instructor. Hamanasi highly recommends this short course for anyone who has not been diving within the past 12 months.

Enriched Air Diver
Enriched air diving, a.k.a. nitrox diving, lets the certified diver safely extend bottom time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air allows for more time underwater and often with less stress on the body. Classroom time is approximately a half-day. Completion of this course allows the diver to dive with nitrox filled tanks.

Specialty Courses
A variety of dive specialty courses are available. Please inquire.

Rescue Diver
Experienced divers learn basic first aid and rescue skills in this rigorous course. This is a physically demanding course - students should be in good shape! This course includes 3 to 4 water training sessions and takes approximately 4 days to complete.

WHALE SHARK DIVING 2013

Whale sharks visit the Gladden Spit area of Belize's Southern Barrier Reef during the full moon period of March, April, May and June to feed on the spawn of the aggregating snappers. This area of deep lying reef was declared a marine park in 2000, and is regulated by the Department of Fisheries and managed by Southern Environmental Association.

There are strict regulations in the whale shark area to which all operators must adhere. The whale shark dives are blue water dives for experienced divers only . All divers are required to do a dive on the barrier reef with Hamanasi prior to venturing out to the whale shark area. A minimum number of 8 divers is required to go out to Gladden Spit, and the legal maximum number of divers for these trips is 12 divers per boat.

Whale sharks are usually spotted 3-4 days after the full moon and up to 4-6 days after the full moon. As this varies year to year we will be flexible and take out boats if they are sighted outside of these days. There is a regulated system for all operators offering tours to Gladden Spit, allocating specific time slots inside the whale shark zone to each operator. A maximum of 4 boats are allowed in the whale shark zone during each time slot of 1 1/2 hours. For the months of April and May there is approx. 70% chances sightings and for March and June there fewer sightings.

Whale shark diving is not included in any of Hamanasi's packages and the upgrade fee is currently USD $120 per person (subject to change). For non-package guests, Whale Shark dives are USD $200 per person (subject to change). All divers will be required to attend a short whale shark training meeting at which they must complete and sign Hamanasi's Whale Shark Liability Release.

Hamanasi takes pride in our well-trained staff. All our divemasters and captains have attended a two-day course on Whale Shark Diving presented by Southern Environmental Association, the organization managing the Gladden Spit Marine Park. This course has given them a great appreciation for the gentle giants of the ocean and an understanding of how to interact with the whale sharks.

BOOKING POLICIES

DEPOSITS/CANCELLATION/REFUND: INDIVIDUAL FIT BOOKINGS

• Reservations are not confirmed until proper deposit and payment is received.
• All cancellations must be made in writing and acknowledged as received by the resort.
• No-shows or premature departures – no refund. 
• Cancellation fees will be deducted from all refunds.

High Season

• US $300 per person is required to confirm a reservation. 
• Final balance is due 90 days prior to arrival, non refundable.

Shoulder & Low Seasons

• US $150 per person is required to confirm a reservation.  Final balance due 45 days prior to arrival date.
• 90 days before arrival – full refund
• 60 - 90 days before arrival – full refund less 50% of deposit.
• 45 days - 59 days before arrival - full refund less deposit
• Less than 45 days before arrival: No refund.

CURRENCY
Payments must be made in US Dollars. We accept MasterCard and Visa.

Upon arrival a MasterCard or Visa credit card is needed as a deposit against incidental charges incurred during the stay.  If a guest does not have a credit card, then a deposit of US $150 (BZ $300) per person will be required. No personal checks or American Express cards will be accepted in Belize.

CHANGES IN RESERVATION
The unused portion of hotel and/or any part of the package plans and trips not taken by customer’s choice are non-transferable and not refundable. Trips cancelled or shortened as a result of inclement weather and/or acts of God including hurricanes or due to airline delays, strikes or political unrest are non-transferable and not refundable.  Hamanasi is not responsible for missed or delayed flights!

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP/VISA REQUIREMENTS
Guests are responsible for determining and obtaining proper entry documentation. All foreign nationals require a passport to enter Belize.  Visitors from some countries may require a visa.  No refunds will be granted for denied entry caused by failure to carry proper proof of citizenship or the appropriate visa.

INSURANCE
Hamanasi strongly encourages all guests to purchase medical, accident, luggage, emergency trip cancellation & dive insurance.  Our U.S. Reservations Office can assist you with travel insurance quotes & information. Please call 1/877-552-3483.

CHILDREN
Up to two children under 12 may stay free of charge, per room, when staying in the room with a paying adult, using existing bedding.  Guests must notify the hotel at booking if an infant will be staying with them and if a crib is needed.  Room types and locations may be limited.
