Upon arrival a MasterCard or Visa credit card is needed as a deposit against incidental charges incurred during the stay. If a guest does not have a credit card, then a deposit of US $150 (BZ $300) per person will be required. No personal checks or American Express cards will be accepted in Belize.
The unused portion of hotel and/or any part of the package plans and trips not taken by customer’s choice are non – transferable and not refundable. Trips cancelled or shortened as a result of inclement weather and/or acts of God including hurricanes or due to airline delays, strikes or political unrest are non – transferable and not refundable. Hamanasi is not responsible for missed or delayed flights!
Hamanasi strongly encourages all guests to purchase medical, accident, luggage, emergency trip cancellation & dive insurance. Insurance is highly recommended for all travel dates, regardless of the time of year. For travel insurance please check: www.itravelinsured.com/. Guests are responsible for determining and obtaining proper entry documentation. All foreign nationals require a passport to enter Belize. Visitors from some countries may require a visa. No refunds will be granted for denied entry caused by failure to carry proper proof of citizenship or the appropriate visa.
Up to two children under 12 may stay free of charge, per room, when staying in the room with a paying adult, using existing bedding. Tours, meals, drinks, etc., are extra. Children must pay for any local flights, land transfers and meals purchased a la carte. Hamanasi can provide personalized tours for families at an al la carte price. Children may also purchase a Reef and Rainforest package, though please note that most organized tours are not appropriate for children under the age of seven. Guests must notify the hotel at the time of booking if an infant will be staying with them and if a crib is needed. Room types and locations may be limited.
Hamanasi has guests with children that have a great time during their stay, however the parents have to plan on spending a lot of time with their children as we do not have a special children’s program. The following is our policy: Parents should maintain responsibility for and supervision of their children at all times when staying at Hamanasi. Hamanasi does not claim that it is able to ensure children’s safety while on property or during any of Hamanasi’s organized tours and maintains that this is the responsibility of the parent. Parents should be aware that Hamanasi employees are not trained in the specific care of children. Hamanasi’s swimming pool does not have a lifeguard on duty. Note that Hamanasi does not have television available on premises. Hamanasi may be able to assist parents contracting a local baby sitter while they participate in tours and activities in the area.
Hamanasi serves excellent Belizean and regional cuisine with international influences. Hamanasi uses the best available ingredients combining fresh produce, seafood and items from the surrounding area producing a tantalizing variety of meal choices. Hamanasi is flexible and tries to cater to special dietary requirements. Vegetarian options are available for all meals (due to our remote location, please notify Hamanasi of special dietary requirements at the time of booking)
Breakfast is served from 6:30 – 9:30 am. Continental breakfast is included in room rates. Continental breakfast varies daily and comprises home baked breads, fresh fruit, eggs, granola, yogurt, cheese, juice, coffee and hot tea.
Lunch is served from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. The lunch menu offers a variety of Belizean and regional favorites. The prepaid lunch package includes one appetizer or entree.
Dinner is served from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Dinner includes a choice of appetizers, several main courses and dessert accompanied by home baked bread. Each menu includes a seafood, vegetarian and meat dish. Prepaid dinner packages include bread, soup or salad, one main course, dessert, coffee and hot tea. Appetizers beyond soup or salad are available for an additional charge.
Signed release forms are required to participate in certain activities at Hamanasi. All divers will be required to complete and sign Hamanasi's Liability Release Waiver and acknowledgement of Safe Diving Practices before diving. A separate Safety Screening Form is required for divers diving the Blue Hole at Lighthouse Reef Atoll. All divers participating in a Whale Shark dive must sign a Whale Shark Release form.
A signed and completed physicians release form will be required for any diver who answers "yes" on a medical screening form. Please download the form here.
All divers must present their dive cards. All major certifications are accepted. No one may dive without a valid certification card unless he participates in a Discover Scuba or Open Water Course.
Some dive trips are appropriate only for experienced divers. It is at the sole discretion of Hamanasi’s dive staff management to determine if the person is qualified to do the dive trip.
Diving Adventure prices do not include gear rental. All necessary equipment for is available for rental - see our rates page. Rates subject to change.
Gear storage is available in the Hamanasi Adventure Center. Hamanasi staff carries all gear to and from the boats, assists with preparation and washes all equipment in fresh water at the end of each dive trip. Hamanasi is not liable for missing or damaged equipment.
Pleasure riding on dive and snorkel boats is not permitted. Non – diving or non – snorkeling passengers traveling to a nearby island will be charged the snorkeling rate.
There are strict regulations in the whale shark area to which all operators must adhere. The whale shark dives are blue water dives for experienced divers only. All divers are required to do a checkout dive on the barrier reef with Hamanasi prior to venturing out to the whale shark area. This checkout dive allows divers to fine-tune their weighting and allows our staff to assess diver skills and ability for their safety at the Gladden Spit whale shark area. A minimum number of 8 divers is required to go out to Gladden Spit, and the legal maximum number of divers for these trips is 12 divers per boat.
All divers will be required to attend a short whale shark training meeting at which they must complete and sign Hamanasi’s Whale Shark Liability Release before doing Whale Shark dives.
Never chase an animal – while hiking, diving or snorkeling. Guests are expected to stay on trails and not take souvenirs from nature or archeological sites. Respect our reef and her inhabitants. Touch only water! Take only pictures! Leave only your wake! No divers or snorkelers are permitted to touch or take anything from the sea. No exceptions. Individuals who cause negative environmental damage during dive or snorkel trips may be banned from diving or snorkeling in Belize in accordance with Belize regulations.
