Lights Off, Purpose On: Celebrating Earth Hour at Hamanasi

Each year, as the world pauses to recognize Earth Hour, Hamanasi embraces the moment as an expression of our commitment to conservation, community, and mindful living.

Hamanasi moves beyond the standard hour and rather celebrates this event with a candlelit dinner at our award winning Singanga Restaurant. All lights at the Great House are switched off, and the vibrant hum of modern energy use gives way to the soft glow of candlelight and the natural rhythms of the night.

At Hamanasi, Earth Hour is not just about turning off lights: it is about turning awareness into action. The evening often unfolds into an intimate, low impact experience: a candlelit dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients and quiet reflections on the importance of protecting the ecosystems that surround us.

Earth Hour also serves as a reminder of the small changes that can create meaningful impact. By reducing energy use, even for this short time, we contribute to a global movement that calls attention to climate action and environmental stewardship. More importantly, we inspire both our guests and our team to carry these values into their daily lives.

At its heart, Hamanasi’s Earth Hour celebration is a quiet yet powerful statement: when we come together with intention, even the simplest actions can illuminate a path toward a more sustainable future. Earth Hour 2026 took place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time.

We hope that you will celebrate Mother Earth every day, as well as during Earth Hour!
