We had a fantastic lionfish catch for 2015 Thanks to all the guest and staff that helped to achieve our goal. Total lionfish slaughtered 5056 lionfish. We set an ambitious goal of 5000 and achieved it more than doubling the total killed in 2014.
Since Hamanasi started keeping records of the lionfish culling we have increased our numbers every year.
2012 = 875
2013 = 1214
2014 = 2447
2015 = 5056
As you can see in 2014 we more than doubled out total from 2013 and in 2015 we more than doubled 2014. New Goal for 2016 is 10,000 in an attempt to double 2015 but we am confident we can reach another historical number, 6500!
On a fun side note when we reach 408 fish killed this year it will be our 10,000 recorded lionfish kill. When we reach 5408 this year it will be our 15,000 recorded lionfish killed.
