There are so many incredible women who work at Hamanasi! From our internship program to our management team you’ll find women working to make your vacation at Hamanasi an unforgettable experience! Read below to meet just a few of these awesome ladies. You’ll no doubt see some familiar faces you recognize from your stay, but you’ll also meet some ladies whose work behind the scenes helped make your stay better.

Danisha – Singanga Restaurant

Danisha has been working at Hamanasi for over 12 years in Singanga Restaurant.  She is a bubble of joy who is always singing, dancing, and cracking jokes.  She loves to make people smile and have fun!  She is a loving mother of three kids, two boys and one girl.  When not at Hamanasi, she enjoys traveling with her family, whether to Placencia or the Cayo District.  She also enjoys braiding hair for guests, friends and family. 

Kamisha – Front Desk

As you walk to the front desk, Kamisha may be one of those smiling faces to greet you! An employee of Hamanasi for five years, Kamisha started off working in the gift shop. She now is at the front desk and enjoys working with her team who makes her laugh. When at work, She loves to enjoy the fresh air & breeze as she hunts for the perfect Hamans leaves for the welcome notes you receive on your first day.  When not at work, Kamisha likes to cook, bake and spend time with her son. Kamisha loves children and one day aspires to open a daycare facility.

Elizabeth – Housekeeping Supervisor

Elizabeth is a one-of-a-kind lady!  A supervisor in the Housekeeping department, she has been with Hamanasi for over 5 years. She loves the environment of her work place from the beautiful nature to the smiling faces of people she works with.  On days off, Elizabeth enjoys relaxing on the beach with her son and husband.  One day, Elizabeth would like to open a restaurant and bar, serving local food. 

Nirisie – Guest Services

Nirisie is a woman of many talents. She started her career at Hamanasi in 2018, working in the gift shop, and has since moved to an administrative guest services position in the back office.  She is one of the lovely voices you hear when you call Hamanasi and is talented with logistics and keeping everything organized. When not at work, Nirisie prefers spending quality time with her family, whether traveling, cooking pizza or shopping.  An interesting fact about Nirisie is she is an avid reader, reading at least a book per month.  She loves literature involving mystery or fantastical events! 

Marcia – Head Chef

Marcia Nunez, head chef, has worked at Hamanasi for over 21 years since the resort opened.  She began specializing as a breakfast chef and soon worked her way to head chef for lunch and dinner.  Marcia received training from the Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute, Culinary Institute of America, and from working with other chefs.  One highlight for her was cooking for Prince Harry during his visit to Belize commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s diamond jubilee. When not crafting delicious meals at Hamanasi, Marcia enjoys spending quality time with her family. 

Amaris – Manager/Wedding Planner

Amaris is a woman who can make it happen!  She has been with Hamanasi for almost 6 years and is currently a Manager on Duty and expert wedding planner.  Amaris loves being able to positively contribute towards a guest’s experience while on vacation and brightening up another employee’s day.  When not at work, she loves a good TV series, spending time with her family or reading an interesting mystery novel.  

Rosemary – Operations Manager

Rosemary is the Operations Manager and has been at Hamanasi for 11 years.  She has had many roles at Hamanasi from Food and Beverage manager to Manager-on-Duty, so to say she knows her stuff is an understatement!  When not working she loves DIY projects,  crafting traditional Maya embroidery or ‘cooking up a storm’! An interesting fact about Rosemary is that she LOVES marshmallows!

Kirsty – General Manager

Kirsty is a person who loves to bring joy to people, whether it’s creating the vacation experience of a lifetime for guests or growing and developing staff to their fullest potential.  As the one of Hamanasi’s General Managers for 10 years, she has been an integral part of making great memories for many people.  She’s an adventurous person, hailing from South Africa, who has been face to face with leopards and lions, and has even chased by hippos and elephants!  When not at work, Kirsty enjoys diving, traveling the world and cooking. 

Melonie – Guest Services Manager

Melonie was born and raised in nearby Dangriga Town, known as the cultural capital of Belize. She began her career in tourism in 2005, and joined the Hamanasi Family in 2010, becoming Guest Services Manager in 2018. As the eldest daughter to her parents, she says she has always had a natural instinct of catering to and making people smile. 

Areli – Regenerative Ambassador

Areli, Hamanasi’s Sustainability manager enjoys a locally sourced Seaweed shake.

As our Regenerative Ambassador, aka Sustainability Manager, Areli leads Hamanasi’s environmental efforts in our operations, as well as educational initiatives for guests, staff and our community. A native Belizean from Corozal Bay, Areli loves teaching and sharing her passion for sustainable and regenerative practices.
