Jackiva Alvarez has a big smile, which she loves to show off! It’s the type of smile that reflects who Jackiva is; a lively warm-hearted person. A member of the Hamanasi wait staff, Jackiva was born in the “cultural capital” of Belize, Dangriga town, but for the past 18 years now has called Hopkins Village home — a home that she now shares with her one-year-old daughter. New to parenthood she is both proud and excited to see her daughter grow.
Jackiva started at Hamanasi 3 years ago as a food runner. Her eagerness to learn and grow paid off when she was promoted to server. The most gratifying part of her job is seeing guests return to Hamanasi. To her it means as a team we are doing a really good job in sharing the warmth of Belize.
Her biggest role model in life is her mom, Jackie Gamboa, Hamanasi’s Human Resources Manager. “Everything on how to be a good woman, a good person comes from what my mom has taught me,” shared Jackiva.
Jackiva loves going out and playing a good game of softball and getting her name on the score sheet. If you ask what she enjoys on her down time, you might be surprised to learn its karaoke!
Well, we say sing your heart out Jackiva, sing it out!
