Hamanasi Resort, located in Hopkins Village, Belize is well known for its Marine and Terrestrial Adventures along with its excellent customer service.  We also take pride in our onsite Certified Organic Garden.

On February 27, 2017, Hamanasi’s Green Team hosted a group of 50 students, parents and teachers who travelled from Punta Gorda Town to conduct a tour of our organic garden and compost facility. The young minds of the students were overfilled with knowledge on organic gardening and composting. They learned how seedlings are planted, how beds are maintained, how soil is supplemented and what plants look and feel like.

“The children enjoyed playing the game of identifying the different plants and, most of all, learning how a carrot plant looks like,” said Mrs. Leticia Zuniga, a teacher from Saint Benedict Roman Catholic School.

The presentations given to our little guests were done by Jessie Noralez, Lawrence Casimiro, Martin Valentine, Therese Roches and Seleem Chan — all proud members of Hamanasi’s Green Team.

In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you want to be in the world.” We surely hope we positively imprinted the hearts and minds of these curious, intelligent young children!
