Do you have fond memories of climbing a tree as a child or relaxing under a shade tree on a hot day? Perhaps you picked fruit from a tree or watch birds flitting around blossoms? As part of our regenerative efforts, you can help ensure that others will enjoy trees by planting and adopting a tree at Hamanasi!

Danielle Lifavi & Brian Bolan adopted a tree in May 2021.

If you’ve been to Hamanasi, you know that we love trees. Trees play a critical role in our ecosystem. Their roots prevent soil erosion. They cool the air. They provide homes and food for birds and other animals. They breathe in carbon dioxide and produce fresh oxygen. Hamanasi wants everyone to be more aware and knowledgeable about the natural environment in our coastal community and the importance of trees. As such, we came up with our Adopt a Tree initiative.

For a small fee of US$50 per tree, guests may select a tree to adopt from a variety of flowering or non-flowering species, such as Mango, Hamans, Coconut palms, Yellow Flame and many more. This contribution goes towards the cost of the program, and any remaining amount is added to our Hamanasi Education Fund.

We’ve had many guests who have adopted trees. A member of the Green Team accompanies the guest to plant the tree. Afterward, we put a sign with the guest’s name and type of tree that was planted. This is a great way to commemorate a wedding, anniversary, birthday or simply a vacation. Hopefully, when the guest returns he or she can see how the tree has grown.

By participating in Hamanasi’s Adopt a Tree program, you’ll do more than put a sapling in the ground. You will make sure these habitats regenerative and thrive for future generations of humans and wildlife. We hope you’ll adopt a tree at Hamanasi!
