Throughout August, Hamanasi celebrated Belize’s rich indigenous Maya heritage through distinctive cultural tours and special in-house presentations. Guests journeyed back in time on our Ancient & Living Maya Culture adventure in Southern Belize. In Western Belize, on the Magical Maya History Tour we showcased the stunning archaeological sites of Xunantunich and Cahel Pech. Nearby, guests had the sweetest experience of all while visiting Mr. Che’il’s organic cacao farm and making chocolate the traditional Maya way.
Each Tuesday the celebration continued. During our Green Hour, Hamanasi’s Green Team hosted a lively presentation on the Maya’s fascinating history and enduring culture. Guests were invited to ask questions and learn while we savored traditional Maya dishes and beverages prepared right here at Hamanasi. Culture, connection and conversation: it was a delicious and memorable way to connect with Belize’s past and present, while honoring the people who have helped shape its story.
