We are buzzing with excitement and beaming with pride that Hamanasi was awarded one of the top 10 Hotels in the World by Tripadvisor in the 2022 Travelers’ Choice Awards!  Furthermore, Hamanasi was awarded the Best of the Best, the highest recognition that is presented annually to those businesses that are the Best of the Best on Tripadvisor, those that earn excellent reviews from travelers and are ranked in the top 1% of properties worldwide.

Thank you to all the guests who took the time to share their Hamanasi experience on Tripadvisor.  We are immensely proud of our wonderful team who delivered the amazing vacations that earned those rave reviews!  This award puts a spotlight on our beautiful home of Hopkins Village and the country of Belize. 

5-star Guests and Team

Hamanasi was honored to earn only 5-star Tripadvisor reviews in 2021. To each of you a heartfelt thank you from your Hamanasi Family.  You might say that this recognition has been 22 years in the making.  Since opening in 2000, we have asked every guest for feedback.  Criticism, both good and bad, has helped us improve the Hamanasi experience each year.  Over the years that’s led to almost 2,700 5-star reviews.

Let’s put that into perspective. Hamanasi is a boutique resort with 30 rooms and 170+ employees.  In 2021, we had a total of 2,758 guests choose Hamanasi for their vacation. 

Those of you who have experienced Hamanasi’s customer service will appreciate that for our employees, this means 2,758 names learned and dietary requirements memorized.  Over 1200 welcome notes written by hand on Hamans leaves collected on property.  Countless special occasions celebrated and even more laughs shared.

Those 2,758 guests each received a reusable water bottle, took over 16,000 adventures, learned a myriad of new, interesting facts and had an untold number of wondrous moments in nature.

How many of those guests noticed the patterns raked in the beach sand each morning?  Appreciated the tropical flowers blooming?  Spotted birds and animals scurrying about? Noticed the craftsmanship of the wooden furniture handmade on property, toured the organic garden and learned about our regenerative practices?

Travel during a Pandemic

For many of these 2,758 guests it was their first vacation since the pandemic. For the tourism industry, emerging from the pandemic has brought numerous challenges.  Hamanasi had to be able to adjust, adapt, and maintain the highest level of personalized customer service, while ensuring the safety of our guests and staff.  This alone was a great achievement.
