Hamanasi is a special place that strives to give guests the vacation experience of a lifetime. People come together with their loved ones to create unforgettable memories by going on exciting adventures, savoring delicious food in our Singanga Restaurant or simply enjoying a day on the beach.
This perfect combination of adventure and relaxation coupled with natural beauty and excellent customer service at this small boutique resort brings a high percentage of repeat guests. In August 2021, the Moya family returned to Hamanasi for a second visit. Their story is an interesting and inspiring one.
The Decision
The summer of 2021, Valeska Moya graduated from highschool and was given a big decision to make by her father, Dieter. He wanted to give her the gift of a family vacation, and it was her choice as to where they would go as a family.
The Moyas have travelled extensively, potentially making this a difficult selection. As a family they have visited many countries and regions such as Kenya, Mexico, Europe, Canada, Belize and the Turks and Caicos, rarely returning to the same destination twice. With this said, Valeska had made up her mind. She wanted to return to Hamanasi in Hopkins Village, Belize!
Why Hamanasi?
When Valeska was 13 years old, her family first visited Hamanasi. The memories from that visit lasted through the years. Valeska loved that Hamanasi is not “too big or crowded”. It is an intimate resort where she was not treated as a “number”. Instead, all of the staff knew her name and even remembered details like the fact that she does not like mayonnaise on her sandwiches.

One experience Valeska recalled was when she was stung by a jellyfish. The Hamanasi staff jumped into action giving her a remedy for her sting and genuinely checking in on her to ensure she was ok. Valeska enjoys the friendly atmosphere of not only the staff, but other guests as well. The Moya family found it easy to make friends here and shared adventures and meals with another adventurous family during their stay.

The Return Visit
This past summer, the Moyas returned to Hamanasi. Once again, they enjoyed meeting other guests and the many adventures at Hamanasi including diving, night diving, lionfish spearfishing adventure, hiking, canoeing and ziplining. Particularly memorable was the adrenaline rush of waterfall rappelling!
During their stay, the Moyas were very busy. However, Valeska will never forget the phrase spoken by one of the notorious members of the dive team: “Relax, you’re in Belize!” Can you guess who might have said this? Valeska plans on continuing her studies focusing on music production, but she hopes to come back to Hamanasi to see the many friends she has made during her two visits.
