While your food is cooking, you will tour a Garifuna gallery and your host will describe some of the Garifuna artifacts that have been collected throughout the years. Additionally, you will be mesmerized by the pulsating rhythm of Garinagus’ drums. Be one with Belize while learning how to drum, dance and sing with friendly and professional indigenous people! This tour will give you a broad introduction to the culture, history and traditions of the unique Garifuna fishing village of Hopkins!

Nearby are the unexcavated remains of the ancient Mayan city of Mayflower. Archaeologists are still unearthing and piecing together the history of this modest Mayan ruin, which is overgrown by the jungle. Orchids, birds and lush vegetation abound!  This hike is physically challenging!
